CARROT ðŸ¥•🥕🥕🥕

One of the best underground veg roots, should be added to our daily meals. It is well-known for its rich vitamin A,carotene ,fibre & other minerals. Very good to our eyesight & skin preventing us from many deficiency diseases. Good for mental health also. These are just  basic benefits of the beautifully coloured underground root.

KIDS & CARROT

Some kids like to eat cooked  or baked carrots. Some like raw carrots as spices or grated form.
But many kids try to avoid in both above said stuff .
Halwa is one of the best ways to make the kids enjoy the Healthy root.
When you want to give healthy foods to your family,no compromises. As white sugar does not come under healthy ingredients list,we can substitute it with Jaggery.

So here comes the Carrot Halwa with Jaggery.

 INGREDIENTS :

Grated carrot 3 cups
Jaggery powder 3/4 cup
Dried nuts
Cardamom
Ghee.

PREPARATION:

Choose a thick based fry pan.
Heat it under low flame.
Add two spoons of Ghee then add the grated carrot to it. Saute well in low flame.

Some carrots will be half cooked during sauting. But some need more time . In such cases sprinkle a little water, mix well  and close with lid.

After 8 to 10 minutes  open the lid .         Check whether the carrot is cooked well.

When you confirm that it's cooked add the Jaggery powder to it .

Mix well until the Jaggery melts well with carrot.

Add ghee fried Dried nuts and Cardamom powder to the mix.

Cook well until all got mixed well together to reach Halwa consistency.

Switch off the stove.

ALTERNATIVES:

WITH  MILK & WITH SUGAR:

Those who love milky taste, can add milk to grated carrot after sauting and make carrots being cooked in milk. In such cases Jaggery should be added at the end of the Recepie.
It's better to use sugar while using milk.
But milk and white sugar add more calories to the recepie.

IMPORTANCE:

Carrot Halwa is very simple & well known familiar recipe. But making it no Sugar,no milk, there by less calorie Recepie is the aim of this post
Try in your kitchen. Share your Experiences of making your family &kids taste it.
