This Recepie is made in Pressure cooker without weight  or whistle.

Ragi kaara Kollukatai  in Tamil,

Ragi Momos in Hindi & in some languages. 

Ragi Spicy Balls in English. 


INGREDIENTS:

Whole Ragi Millet 1 cup.

Raw Rice powder 1/4  cup.

Boiled  hot water 3 to 4 cups.

Salt 

Onions 2 

Chilli 4 both  chopped. 

Curry  & coriander leaves  Chopped 

Mustard, 

Jeera,

Urid dhal.

PREPARATION;

Grind the whole Ragi millets into powder in a mixer. 

In a pan fry the raw rice in medium flame. When it is half done add Ragi powder to i 


You can fry both the floors separately also.

When you felt Rice smell it is done ,you can switch off the stove.

FRYING:

In another pan add oil to heat.

When oil heated add Mustard, urid dhal,jeera,onion ,chilli cut pieces, curry & coriander leaves, salt to taste. 


Fry well until onion turns golden brown. 

Switch off the stove. 

Meanwhile boil water in  a separate vessel.


DOUGH MAKING:

Now the fried flour would have cooked little to handle easily for mixing. 

Add a pinch of salt to the flour. Mix well with saddle. 

Add the fried Spices & onions  to the flour.


Add boiled water little by little to the flour  to & mix thoroughly with saddle first.


When the hotness of flour is bearable use your hand to knead it to make dough consistency  to make balls out of it.   


Make  many oval balls like fist or Any shape you lik. Make them firm balls so that they are not cracked.



STEAMING:

Keep a cooker on stove. Pour 3 cups of water  into it. Switch on the stove.   


Place a small plate or stand in the water.

Place a broad mouthed vessel on it.

Place Broad mouthed vessel .

Arrange all the balls or momos, or Kollukatais  in neatly in the vessel. 

Close the  cooker with the lid without weight  or whistle


Steam cook for 15 minutes. 

After 15 minutes,  when you open the lid Tasty , Healthy, Colourful, Soft Ragi Kollukatai or momos or balls are ready. 


Apt for breakfast & evening Snacks.
