It is a traditional South Indian Dish. No dish can compete with its taste &health points.
All the South states of India are well familiar with the dish.
But do you think it is a time consuming dish? to bring it to restaurant finish.?

Less oil, Less Calorie, Easy,Quick Recepies in 10 min, OUR STYLE.....
INGREDIENTS;:
Ponni or Raw Rice broken 1 cup.
Moong Dhal 1/4 cup
Oil or Ghee 3 to 4 spoons
Spices.
Mustard, pepper, jeera, curry leaves, chopped ginger little, Asafoetida.
Cashewnuts.
Salt.
PREPARATION:
In a mixer coarse grind 2 cups of rice just by 2 rounds in whisk mode.
Note: This helps in two ways:
A. Enhances fast cooking.
B. To get Restaurants style finish.
Transfer the Rice to a cooker.
Add the moong dhal to the Rice.
Wash them together twice .
Add THREE AND HALF cup of water.
Pressure cook in medium flame.
After 3 whistles switch off the stove.
Take a pan ,keep on stove, switch on the flame.
Add ghee or oil .
When it is heated add all spices and Cashews.
Fry well in oil , add salt.
At this time Pressure in Cooker would have reduced well.
Open the cooker to see both Rice and moong dhal cooked and mixed well.
NOTE:
If the cooked Rice, dhal is sticky,add 1/2 cup of water to it. Mix well from bottom. If you feel that the consistency is little watery , no problem when it starts cooling it will come to perfect finish.
Now add the fried Spices to the cooked rice, dhal,and add one spoon ghee to it & mix well.
Tasty,Healthy Ghee Pongal is ready in just 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve the Pongal with coconut chutney ,Sambar. If urid dhal vada, medhu vada eaten with Pongal, its CLASSIC ...different Level of taste.
